Probably worth it to get the more expensive one

"I would say this is okay. It grinds grain. People online said the grain was fine, I would say the grain is course. They say you have to sift the flour to get a finer flour, but then you loose out on the fiber and a good bit of the reason I grind my out wheat berries. If you remill your flour (which you are not supposed to do) then you can get a good texture flour, but you’re also likely significantly lessening the lifespan of the machine. I’m glad I go it so I could get started and not have a hand crank mill, but kind of wish I had just saved up for a better machine."

Excellent performance

"Refurbished unit was not running when received. Being a bio medical repair technician, I disassembled and made a simple adjustment to a micro switch. Unit is now very functional and performs better than I anticipated. We plan on buying another new unit when they are back in stock. Jeff"

Works like a charm!

"We have been very happy with our refurbished Impact Grain Mill. With these units being hard to get, we took a chance on an available refurbished one. The unit came with original packaging and all parts and instructions. Easy to use and clean up is simple with warm water and dish soap."

Great grain mill!

"So glad that I received my refurbished Impact Grain Mill. The demand for these have been great and they were out of stock. The mill, as received, looks brand new. I ran 2 cups of white rice through the mill blades, brushed it clean and then ground 4 cups of hard white wheat to make 2 loaves of bread. My baked whole wheat bread had tiny bits of a "crunch" to it. I think this was due to having bits of ground rice still in the blades. I'm sure there will be no more crunchy bits in my third loaf of bread. If so, I'll have to replace the mill. But for now, I give it a conditional 4 stars."

Love the Impact Grain Mill

"I love using this grain mill. It is the perfect choice for me. I have never milled my own flour before and wasn’t sure how I’d like it. This is a solid performer that didn’t break the bank. It’s refurbished but you’d never know it. My favorite is milling hard white wheat & Kamut together for the perfect soft sourdough sandwich loaf. As I’ve milled more flour, my confidence level is increasing and I’m branching out to making Cream of Wheat with Einkorn berries, bagels and muffins & brownies and converting my favorite sourdough recipes to using freshly milled flour. This is a great mill and I highly recommend it."

Feed Rate

The feed rate knob controls both the milling speed and texture of the flour. The first notch powers on the mill, while each additional notch (up to seven) increases the feed rate. Lower feed rates yield finer flour, while higher feed rates provide coarser textures. Adjusting the feed rate helps you achieve the perfect texture, no matter the grain or legume type.

Feed Rate 1: Best for fine milling of small grains like quinoa.

Feed Rate 2: Suitable for coarser milling of small grains.

Feed Rates 2-3: Ideal for fine milling of medium-sized grains, such as wheat.

Feed Rates 4+: Recommended for coarser milling of medium-sized grains.

Feed Rates 3-4: Works well for fine milling of larger grains or legumes, like beans.

Feed Rates 5+: Provides coarser textures for larger grains and beans.

With these settings, you can adjust the texture to your preference based on grain type and size, all with a single, easy-to-use knob.
