California Assembly Bill No. 1200 (AB 1200) Cookware Disclosure
About California AB 1200
At NutriMill, product safety is a priority. We are committed to transparency and compliance with all laws applicable to the products we manufacture and sell.
California Assembly Bill No. 1200 (AB 1200) requires manufacturers of certain cookware products sold in California to disclose whether specific chemicals from the California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) Candidate Chemical List have been intentionally added to food-contact surfaces or handles. The products identified in the tables below are those for which website disclosure is required under California law.
We have no reason to believe that any of our products present a health risk when used as intended. The products identified on this page comply with applicable requirements established by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration governing materials intended for direct contact with food.
What Are the Requirements of California AB 1200?
The cookware disclosure requirements of AB 1200 are found in California Health & Safety Code Section 109010 and following sections.
Beginning January 1, 2023, manufacturers of cookware sold in California are required to disclose on their websites any chemicals from the California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) Candidate Chemical List that have been intentionally added to a cookware product's food-contact surface or handle. Beginning January 1, 2024, manufacturers must also provide this information on product packaging or labels where required by law.
For purposes of AB 1200:
"Cookware" means items used to prepare, dispense, or store food, foodstuffs, or beverages, including pots, pans, skillets, grills, baking sheets, baking molds, trays, bowls, and cooking utensils.
"Intentionally added" means a chemical that has been deliberately incorporated into a product and serves a functional or technical purpose within that product.
Colorado Cookware Disclosure Requirements
Colorado House Bill 22-1345 includes similar cookware disclosure requirements and restricts the sale of cookware containing intentionally added perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
Where applicable, the disclosures provided on this page are intended to support compliance with both California and Colorado cookware disclosure requirements.
