Notice of Financial Incentive

California and certain other state privacy laws require us to explain the terms of programs that offer rewards or discounts in exchange for personal information. This notice covers NutriMill Rewards (the Fresh Milled Flour Club) and Refer a Friend.
What the programs are
NutriMill Rewards lets you earn points for purchases (1 point per $1 spent), for joining the program (50 points), and for following NutriMill on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook (10 points each). Points can be redeemed for discounts on nutrimill.com, currently $10 off an order of $40 or more (200 points), $20 off $60 or more (400 points), 5% off an order (500 points), and 10% off an order (700 points). Members who spend $750 in a program year reach the Baker tier (1.25 points per $1 and a 100-point tier reward) and members who spend $1,200 reach the Artisan tier (1.5 points per $1 and a 200-point tier reward). Refer a Friend gives a friend you refer $20 off a first purchase of $200 or more and gives you 400 points when that purchase is completed. Personal information involved
To run the programs we collect and use your name, email address, phone number if you choose to provide it, customer-account information, order history and amounts, referral activity, the social-media actions you complete for points, and the points and rewards you earn and redeem. We use this information for one purpose: to make sure purchases, referrals, and reviews are credited to the right member, that rewards are applied to the right account at checkout, and that the programs are not abused. If you have separately subscribed to our marketing emails, we may also remind you when you have points available to use. We do not sell this information, and we do not use it to build advertising audiences. Yotpo operates the programs on our behalf as our service provider.
How to join and how to leave
Participation is voluntary and requires you to opt in: you join by creating a rewards account or clicking Join in the rewards panel on our Rewards page. We never enroll you automatically. You may leave the program at any time by emailing hello@nutrimill.com with the subject line "Leave Rewards" or by closing your customer account. Unredeemed points are forfeited when you leave. Leaving does not affect your ability to shop with us or the prices you pay outside the program.
Why the incentive is permitted and how we value your information
The law allows us to offer a financial incentive that is reasonably related to the value of the personal information involved, and it requires us to explain, in good faith, how we arrive at that value. We do not buy, sell, or otherwise assign a market value to your information, and the only thing exchanged in these programs is the rewards themselves. We therefore value the personal information of each member at the value of the rewards that member actually redeems. Because that depends entirely on how each member uses the program, it differs from person to person: many members never redeem a reward, so the value is $0; a member who redeems the rewards listed above receives between $10 and $20 off an order, 5% or 10% off a single order, or a $20 referral discount for a friend. The value can never exceed the rewards described above. Our method is simply: value of the information = value of the rewards redeemed by that member, and we treat the program's operating costs (platform fees and staff time) as the expenses related to offering the incentive. We do not treat the information of members who exercise their privacy rights any differently.
Your rights
Exercising any of the rights described in our Privacy Policy, including opting out of the sale or sharing of personal information through Your Privacy Choices, will not affect your points, rewards, tier, or membership.
